Osteoporosis Facts

Osteoporosis is a silent disease that results from reduced bone density, making them fragile and more prone to fractures. In Malaysia, 1 in 7 (14%) of urban adults have osteoporosis, many of them undiagnosed. Common fracture sites include the hip, spine, and wrist, which can lead to chronic pain, disability, and reduced quality of life. Up to 20% of people who have hip fractures die in the first year after the fracture.
